Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian German film and TV actress best known for her performances in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Since she was the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her professional career in showbiz as a child. She was a lead actress in TV dramas as young as the age of 16. The Oscar-nominated film Downfall the role she played as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudljunge was also highly praised. Additional Oscar nominated films featuring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra was associated with numerous notable projects, both nationally as well as internationally. One of these is the British biographical film Control, the Greek film The Dust of Time, as well as the French historical miniseries Napoleon. The actress also served on the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
